AB de Villiers is coming back!
We all know
that one of the best cricketers had taken retirement from International Cricket
in May 2018 after playing tests again Australia. Yes, I am talking about great
batsman Abraham Benjamin de Villiers. The wonderful batsman announced
his retirement from international cricket in May 2018. But now there are a lot
of news and hints coming that he can come out of his retirement soon.
According to
sources, there are more than 90% chances that AB de Villiers will
play for South Africa Cricket Team in T20 World cup 2020.
Here are some
of the hints and proofs that your favourite cricketer, AB is coming back!!
Mark Boucher May Ask AB de Villiers to Come Out Of Retirement
New
South Africa head coach Mark Boucher has hinted that he may speak with
AB de Villiers in a bid to try and convince the star batsman to return to the
national side ahead of next year's T20 World Cup in Australia. De Villiers
retired from international cricket after South Africa's Test series at home
against Australia in 2018, citing heavy workload, but has since been in fine
form in T20 leagues around the world. With the South African team still trying
to rebuild after losing a host of stars to retirement or, de Villiers would add
much-needed quality and experience to the side ahead of the big tournament.
"When
you go to a World Cup, you want your best players playing for you,"
Boucher told ESPNcricinfo.
"If
I feel he is one of your best players, why wouldn't I want to have a
conversation with him? I've only just got into the job, I might have
conversations with quite a few players and see where they are," he added.
"You
want your best players playing in the World Cup and if there's a couple of
issues you need to iron out, with media, with team-mates, and if it's for the
good of South Africa, why not, let's do it," the former South Africa
wicketkeeper said.
Boucher
was on Saturday named as SouthAfrica head coach until 2023. The announcement was made by Cricket SouthAfrica interim director of cricket, former captain Graeme Smith,
who only took up his post on Wednesday.
AB de
Villiers 'in talks' for the 2020 ICC Men's T20WC return
Faf also admitted that AB is ‘in
talks’ with higher members of South African Cricket team to play for his
country in next year world cup.
Faf du Plessis has
confirmed that the conversations of bringing AB de Villiers back for next
year's ICC Men's T20 World Cup "have already taken place".
The South Africa batsman coming
out of retirement news floated earlier this year, with de Villiers making
himself available for selection for the 2019 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, but
he was overlooked by the selectors.
South
Africa are yet to win a World Cup trophy, and with the 20-over edition lined up
next year, du Plessis revealed that the talks of bringing de Villiers back into
the T20I set-up "have been happening for two or three months
already".
